Unity was before the insurrection. The insurrection changed the dynamics of unity.

Unity should begin with a formal apology on behalf of all or at least the vast majority of Congressional Republicans for continuing to perpetuate the lie that Trump either won the election or that the results remain in doubt and so the legitimacy of Biden’s presidency.

Until that first step is taken, any calls for “unity” should be treated as the cries of sore losers demanding they be given back power that they lost fair and square.
