One thought just occurred to me - remember how Carl Sagan would describe the vastness of space in terms of “billions and billions?”

Well now that we are being made comfortable with the idea of spending several trillion dollars each year that we don’t have, maybe the cosmos won’t seem so vast anymore.

Sagan gave us “billions and billions”. Obama gave us “trillions and trillions”.

In four more years, we’ll be up to “googleplex”.
