Well, first of all the correlation between popularity and who holds the power is not straightforward, so there is no vacuum to fill as of yet.

Second, I’m tactically strongly pro-Medvedev. If anything, his style differs. It counts for something. On a personal level he is more or less a liberal, a technocrat and an anti-Stalinist.
