That is why the Navy is only buying 3. Also F-22 is cancelled with a small buy. F-35 continues to ratchet up in price by the minute. Helicopters continue to be a bargain (I am not at all biased).

F-35 is another service headache in the making and it’s not even in service yet. The V/STOL version is another watch. They should have stuck with an advanced Harrier. Plus, we lost most of the F-35 buyers by now. I remember when the Eurofighter was supposed to be the next big thing in Europe. That ended up being far too expensive as well. The all in one concept of the F-35 will be what kills it. And as far as air superiority for the F-35 I have serious doubts. I’m wondering if they shouldn’t have gone with Boeing. Lockheed has gone over budget over and over again throughout the years.
