I feel like I could probably write DF’s response, right down to the BBL at the end of it. It would include comments about how it would alienate the Republican base for someone to take that position but they have compromised by not making abortion completely illegal, which is what the base wants, so clearly they aren’t guilty of the charge of a war on women. And since Republicans can’t govern if they aren’t elected, this is a necessary sacrifice for the good of the team, and the cost to women is a regrettable side effect.
