2 things before I start…yes, most of those featured during that riff wouldn’t be happy no matter what, and second, I didn’t personally have a problem with the school address. That said:

There is a difference between the 2 items. The scout gig is voluntary, those boys and adult leaders chose to go to Jamboree, and at each Jamboree there is a slot for the President to speak. Sometimes the President shows up, sometimes he doesn’t. The kids at school were basically a captive audience, and that tends to scare some folk, turned out they were wrong and those of us who said it wasn’t a big deal were right, but their fears could be considered valid (just like the fears of the left when Reagan did it).

Anyhow, just wanted to point out that the comparison is kinda, well, apples to crab-apples…
