See, Darlin’- that’s just it. The “take back our country” crowd is no different than the “tear it down” crowd. They’re both lacking the constrained vision, and are therefore part of the same problem.

To tell the truth- I was hoping more folks reading A Conflict of Visions would pick up on the unconstrained right. Not saying those who have or are reading the book don’t, but I do feel at times to be alone on this point.

We need more Sowell, and yes Frum. To me they closely approach the timbre of Buckley. I should expand on that list.

I know in my case being a centrist does feel lonely at times. It’s difficult to navigate between being a social liberal to what some have described me as, a war monger. At times I think everyone is right and everyone is wrong — so we split the difference. Find averages, compromise.
