Not the asshat next door who claims “disability” but works in her garden 3 days a week.

I agree with you. I meet the qualifications for disability, but I’m physically able to do most things. Shuffle numbers, office work, I can do; physical labor is pretty much out. For a while I tried disability, not to suck off the government tit, but for the insurance. Reasonable Health Insurance is impossible to get the instant the words “Heart Defect” come out of your mouth.

I lasted about six months. Disability is Indentured Servitude with the US Government holding the contract. You can’t work enough to make a decent living. Your assets (at that time) had to $1850 or less, not counting your home or your car. THEY OWN YOUR ASS - and the rest of you, too.

The dice rolled my way and I found a GREAT job that let’s me work from home most of the time, has supercharged insurance, and even lets me travel to support Congenital Heart Defect causes. I’m blessed, and I got out of that Government mess ASAP.

Some people like sitting on their brains. I ain’t one of them.
