I’m kind of conflicted about this story. I’m glad the girl is okay and that things worked out for her, but I am also sort of concerned that a 12 year old has that easy of access to a gun.

But if she didn’t, things wouldn’t have worked out okay.

I’m glad she’s okay, and I have no sympathy for the intruder; but I think we have a new meme for the “All Americans must be armed to the teeth at all times” crowd.

I can think of three regulars here who are going to use this as their fallback story, and I consider them rational for the most part. I don’t even want to think about the Freepers, Tea Baggers, McVeigh wannabes, etc., will embrace this.
