re: #753 Walter L. Newton

Yes, Comrade Obama and his gang is working on controlling the pay of ANY employee of ANY company that accepts ANY government help.

Beyond AIG: A Bill to let Big Government Set Your Salary

“But now, in a little-noticed move, the House Financial Services Committee, led by chairman Barney Frank, has approved a measure that would, in some key ways, go beyond the most draconian features of the original AIG bill. The new legislation, the “Pay for Performance Act of 2009,” would impose government controls on the pay of all employees — not just top executives — of companies that have received a capital investment from the U.S. government. It would, like the tax measure, be retroactive, changing the terms of compensation agreements already in place. And it would give Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner extraordinary power to determine the pay of thousands of employees of American companies.”

Does it smell more like socialism to YOU?

Well, I think voters should get to vote on the pay and benefits of all politicians.
There should be an election within three months that gives ranges of salaries; the range that gets the most votes is what they get. If they already got paid more than that, they don’t get any more money.
To take it further, maybe every year voters should approve pay for their politicians. Maybe they can’t recall someone, but they can stop paying him.
I predict this would get politicians to listen to voters.
