It’s true there are bigoted Democrats but that article ignores the fact that many Democrats came out strong for Obama in 2008. Would Obama have won Indiana, Virginia, or North Carolina in 2008 if white Democrats were bigots? These are all states that Bill Clinton and exempting North Carolina not even Jimmy Carter won in 1976.

Exactly, and of course there are (some) non-bigoted Republican voters too.

None of this changes the fact that one party, by and large, thinks that gay people should be treated the same as straight people, and the other doesn’t.
