Let me put it to you like this: They don’t care about your paranoid fantasies. The little pseudo-libertarians on the left and the right don’t actually want to stop the spying, they want to control it for their own power. That’s why the spying has been going on since the end of WWII - nothing more, nothing less and why the bill also had a bit to prevent the closing of Gitmo.
