At Duke it’s not like it’s asking a mile, though. Duke University has one of the largest liberal Divinity school communities in the South and they’ve been working to make their programs more multicultural for decades in order to compete with schools like Chicago, Harvard, and Yale. They have dedicated, permanent spaces on campus already for other religious traditions. I can see why you have safety concerns, but doesn’t it trouble you Duke University’s decision here will embolden more bigots?
