A lot of people, I think, are just having difficulty accepting that the right-wing has opened up and accepted the crazy to the extent that it has. CPAC should show everyone that, but it’s natural to resist the idea.

It’s not these crazy people that matter so much as the environment that makes their views— not their actions— shocking not so far out of the mainstream.
