This being the sesquicentennial of the start of the Civil War, perhaps we need to do a little experiment in separation. Pick 2 states-one liberal and one conservative. Kansas and Massachussetts, California and Texas, whatever. Cut them loose and check and see how they’re doing in a few years. I’m guessing I know where I’d rather be in 10 years…

I have long argued that we should let Texas become the Republic of Jesustan they seem to want so badly and let them run the place on libertarian pixie dust. We can rescue the survivors in 20 years.
