When you have a bad day and are cranky at work, does your pay get docked?

Nope, but I may very well lose a client, which is why I do my damnedest not to be cranky at work. I have had clients refuse to pay bills if they didn’t think my service was satisfactory. It hasn’t happened often, and if they had a fair complaint I will adjust the bill accordingly. It sucks, but I learn to be more responsive to my clients needs so it doesn’t happen again.

I’ll say it again, I am not their boss, docking pay is not a valid metaphor. I am a client paying them for a service. If I don’t receive that service, why should I pay for it?
