The brakes are off, the track is out, and engineer Romney has opened the throttle all the way. Barring $10 a gallon or some other catastrophe, the GOP is headed for a beat-down of Biblical dimensions.

Like most really good news, though, this has a downside: It means that the right-wing will double down on the conspiracies and lies, the tea party cult will be in full control, and we will have to deal with an opposition composed of dangerously misinformed kooks for the next four years. Gridlock, chaos, and even violence will likely increase.
