DRL’s have been the norm on vehicles for the past 20 years.

Cars are different

Some run with only (what used to be called) the parking lights on like my older Saturn. I then have to manually put on the headlights when it starts to get dark. Others run with the headlights on anytime the vehicle os in gear, and still others any time you start the engine. My wifes car runs with the courtesy (parking) lights on whenever the engine is running and the headlights auto come on at dusk (she can also change that setting to have them manually come on whenever she wants. My sons car runs with no lights and also auto senses when it’s dark (again, he has the option)
