Interesting. I just found that 7.9 mm Kurz is still in production since some forces are still using the STG-44. Who knew?

Indeed, some them were found in the hands of al-Sadr’s force in Iraq. Our own troops had ammo made for them in order to test out the rifle their grandfathers fought against.
