I always thought that part was, after the opening of the Book of John, some of the most amazingly beautiful scripture of Christianity. It has poetry, it has art, it has philosophy. As an outsider, I can really appreciate it.

I encourage all my students to read the Bible as a work of literature because so much of Western literature and art alludes to it.
