Good morning y’all - from a cool (48 degrees going up to 67 degrees) and mostly sunny Charlotte! I hope everyone is doing well.
I don’t know if Fat Bastard Vegetarian is out here yet or not, but I wanted to thank you SO MUCH for your comment #943 on the Ron Paul thread. I also want to thank all of you who expressed, either out here or by e-mail your prayers or wishes for good luck for me.
My oncologist called me at 8:45 this morning and told me my test results. My PSA has gone up again. I asked him - since this is the 6th straight test over the past 18 months that my PSA has gone up, was he concerned and his response was “I’ve never been concerned about your PSA, other than the fact that it does seem to keep going up and I can’t figure out why, but you’re still below 1.00 and even a 1.something wouldn’t really concern me or make me change your treatment regimen.”
When my cancer was diagnosed, my PSA was OVER Eleven Hundred and the very aggressive treatment opted for by me has driven it so low that it is unlikely to have spread.
I didn’t say what I wanted to say, which is WHY THE HELL DIDN’T YOU TELL ME THAT A YEAR AGO?! - instead I simply said “So we stay on the same treatment regimen - you don’t want me to get another full body fine bone scan, another CT Scan or a biopsy?” and he said “Yes, that’s right, same treatment regimen and no need for any tests nor a biopsy at this point in time.”

WHEW! Well at least I’m below 1.0 and will be until my next test which will be after July 4th (I’ve been getting tested every 3 months) so I get to spend my two of three favorites holidays (Memorial Day and July 4th) somewhat at ease.

Anyway, I want to thank you all for your prayers and good wishes - I’m sure they helped keep my PSA below truly dangerous levels.
