If you are hitting enough parks on the trip, it is worth investigating the year-long pass to all parks, which is about $80, gets a whole car in, and is generally one of the best bargains out there.

Seniors supposedly get a discounted rate for a lifetime pass but I don’t know if that applies for foreign tourists.

Mine was 10 bucks for lifetime at a zillion federal parks and forests. It’s for 60 and up. Rent a geezer.
