This, folks, is what religion is all about. To the religious, the suffering of these poor people is the example to be set when getting to the afterlife.

Assuming there is a deity, shouldn’t providing decent care to your fellow man be a basic tenet? Assuming there isn’t a deity, why make someone suffer needlessly when one life is all you get?
