Basic lack of education. Science is about how we came about, religion is about why. For some reason they cannot or will not make this distinction.

That’s not really true. Science is about getting around our own limitations and biases in understanding the world.

Religion is a means of social control that uses fairy stories to manipulate the gullible, and absolutely depends on people not thinking clearly. Religion doesn’t tell us why anything is, it just pretends to do so. You need to turn to science for actual answers based in reality.
