The reaction to Francis by the right really reminds me of a favorite quote. “When I fed the poor, they called me a saint. When I asked why are they poor, they called me a communist.” Francis is getting shit from the nutcases because he has the nerve to question their economic policies that screw the poor. And what’s more the guy actually lives a pretty humble life himself. No wonder they hate him.

They love the idea of charity, but they hate poor people.
