Ourlawsshouldstronglysupportandcelebratethelovingcommitmentamanandawomanmaketoeachother
inmarriage.Ourlawsshouldstronglysupportandcelebratealoving,marriedcouplebringingnewlifeintothe
worldandrearingtheirchildreninasecureandnurturingenvironmentfromconceptiontoadulthood.Nolaw
shouldunderminetheimportanceofthatunion,dividethatunionnorundulyburdentheeffortsofparentsto
rearafamilyinasafeandnurturingenvironment.

Thosepersonsinoursocietybestequippedandmotivatedtoprotectandnurturechildrenaretheirparents,not
governmentbureaucrats,teachers,counselorsorsocialworkers.TheRepublicanPartyendorseslegislationto
re‐establishtherightofparentstoconsenttohealthcareinvolvingtheirminorchildren,regardlessofwhether
suchcareentailsdiagnosisandtreatmentofsexuallytransmitteddisease,alcoholism,drugabuseormental
illness,andparticularlyintheconsequentialarenaofabortionandcontraception.
