No militia has ever been able to win a solely military campaign against a conventional military force. They might be able to generate a political solution, or gather enough support to become a conventional force of their own, but pure militia movements have always been crushed utterly.

You mean like how it happened in the American Revolution, where the British pretty much kicked our ass left and right in open battle and occupied both New York and Philadelphia, but tired of the fight after making a few strategic blunders at Saratoga and Yorktown and opted for a political solution?
