I think what we’re seeing from Hannity is what we’ve always seen——a spinning of the facts that is intended to make a GOPer look like the victim. Even if we go with the claim that Trump called Captain Khan a hero, we still can’t overlook the way he attacked Mrs. Khan without provocation by implying that the reason she didn’t speak was because her husband didn’t permit her to speak at the Dem. Convention. The woman is still overcome with emotion when she thinks of her son. I’d think any good parent would be that way. The pain of losing a loved on is always with us. Trump has the manners and social graces of a feral child. He’s been so used to saying really obnoxious things about others and having no one tell him he shouldn’t do it. That habit has been a public characteristic of his since he began running in the GOP primary. Those who were expecting him to pivot in the GE just haven’t been studying him too closely. Trump can’t change 70 years of behavior, not after thinking he’s King of the World and everyone else is inferior to him all of his life. It’s just not gonna happen. He’s thin-skinned and lacks that little voice inside his head that most of us have that informs us whether it is right and proper to say certain things at certain times. Hannity can keep spinning the story and talking about how long the MSM has been talking about Trump and the Khans, but this is a serious offense Trump has committed that resonates with millions of us because almost every family in this country has lost either a family member, friend, co-worker, church member, neighbor, or associate in a war. Plus, I don’t think we all have gotten over the lives lost in Iraq in an unnecessary “W” wanted. I still mourn for the loss of their lives 13 years later, and I probably will for the rest of my days. I believe that Trump accepting that Purple Heart from the vet in VA was, or will be, the last straw for a lot of people because of his comment about receiving it as a gift being easier than earning it himself.
