I appreciate a sense of skepticism towards authority and an individualist approach.

But that does not make me anti-science, because I was taught at an early age (in school, even) how science works and learned to appreciate what peer review really entails: it does not entail finding someone with a degree in some unrelated natural science to point out superficial inconsistencies in the body of literature on a given topic.
