Just 4 short years ago, the nascent deplorables were ready to pick up their AR-15s and start shooting at American soldiers to keep Obama’s army from occupying Texas in Operation Jade Helm.

Sure, but that’s within our borders. It’s even on their home ground. And they’re sure that random fat-ass volunteer against the US army wouldn’t be a contest. (Quite correct, but not the way they think.) Even they can’t help having noticed that foreign operations don’t run that smoothly, and they surely have some veterans to remind them.
