I really enjoyed reading World War Z (forget the movie) because it is not so much about Zombie Apocalypse as it is about how to mismanage a dangerous epidemic: first by hiding it, then denying it, then spreading misinformation to avoid “panic”, then taking all the wrong measures in all the wrong places until it is rampant.

The movie is OK if you simply don’t try to connect it to the book at all. It goes pretty well with Train to Busan
