I bet they have families in other places with houses of prayer where they would be very welcome and happy to visit. (They probably do so at other times as well).

BTW, I am making this argument only because I think it would be the most effective response to this kind of behavior.

These redneck protesters want maximum attention. Denying them attention deters them from this kind of behavior in the future.

These folks might want attention. Sure.

But then other folks who want Muslims out of their communities would learn that if you do this, Muslims won’t show up to worship there. And if you do it enough, they’ll probably leave and find a location elsewhere where people aren’t regularly protesting with guns and they need to avoid their community center in order to deny the protesters attention and/or reduce the potential number of targets if the shit does hit the fan. That’s not okay, but that’s a very definite possibility if people decided that this was an effective technique at preventing Muslims from worshiping in their communities.

I agree with the community’s current response: ignore, do not engage, and go about their business.
