Operation Focus

Fewer than 200 Israeli aircraft took part in the strikes, of which 19 were lost. Worth noting: Not a single US made combat plane participated in the attacks, on either side. The IDF had used US planes from third country sources in earlier years but these, P-51s and B-17s, had long since been retired. All of Israel’s 1967 aircraft were of French origin. The first US jets, A-4 Skyhawks, arrived that fall.

Why was it a 6-day war? On the 7th day God rested.
