I’m very close to a retired Episcopalian priest…I consider him a second father. He is an old school conservative, Reagan era or even prior. Before he retired he didn’t have much time to engage with the world online. Now he does. And he cannot stand Donald Trump.

He started posting about it. Many of his former parishioners started going for his throat. He tried to engage with them and have a dialog. They just kept attacking him, over and over. This man was their priest for over 30 years. They don’t care. He’s a “lib” to them now. Which is HILARIOUS to me, he and I have been arguing politics since I met him.

I’ve painfully watched him trying to talk to them as a man of God for the past 6 months. He’s gotten nowhere.

He finally messaged me yesterday and said, “I have prayed on this, looked inward, mediated, and have come to the conclusion I have to block these assholes. They’re unhinged.”

When a priest blocks you on Facebook…

The funny thing is Trump has me appreciating men like the first Bush and Dole more. I’ll never like Reagan though. I hold him very much responsible for the GOP being the collection of shitbirds they are today. But that’s just crazy how it goes. Goldwater experienced finding out that he and Dole were the new liberals of the GOP as they both entered the twilight of their lives and political careers in Bob’s acse.
