People not very long ago (1986, 1910) ascribed all sorts of terrible calamities to the apparitions of Comet Halley. Yet, we survived — except for the nutters who killed themselves, that is.

What I don’t understand is the Xianist’s contradictory attitude toward celestial events. The “Blood Moon” is supposed to have some grand significance, but the presence of the Sun in a house of the Zodiac (aka astrology) is idolatry or witchcraft.

Likewise, it’s terrible to be a pagan or a Hindu and believe in a multitude of gods, but perfectly fine to believe in a multitude of demons that cause illness, “sin” or homosexuality.
