Manhattan is only an hour’s drive from thriving farmland.

I am not talking about ending agriculture as we know it but there is nothing wrong with eating fruit in season and paying a little more for food grown far away to compensate for the fuel pollution costs.

And eat less meat for goodness sake.

First of all, you’re right about the fruit in season. I never buy grapes any other time, because they won’t be good.

However, we already have a problem with the price of produce being too expensive for the poor.
