I take issue with calling the rest of what has come to light “other crap.” She hijacked a story that wasn’t hers, reported fake hate crimes to the police, and lied about her background repeatedly to get multiple positions that otherwise would have gone to people who didn’t lie about who they were. I especially find the civilian oversight board ombudsman position she took under false pretenses is deeply troubling considering how entrenched structural racism still frequently allows police across the US to needlessly kill black people with impunity.

If she did the ombudsman job well, I wouldn’t have any objections—it’s up to her NAACP superiors to decide how they feel about it. I’ll defer to them. The fake hate crime reports would be bad—if true. Kind of smells like disinformation to me, but if it’s substantiated, then yeah, that would be damning.

Her mental stability certainly seems to be in question, but that can be said of a lot of us….
