Now the absolute most inaccurate history flick I have seen shocker is another Mel Gibson film that shocker also involves the English. I am of course talking about The Patriot. I mean if a tired and true Irish Republican type like me thinks you’re going too far in portraying the English as bad people then you’re going too far.

The thing the bothered me most about that movie was actually the oldest son’s death. You see the bastard who killed your wife, her family, her whole town in a horrible fashion. He’s lying on the ground. What do you do?

Do you shoot him? No.
Bayonet the living shit out of him? No.
You take your itty-bitty knife, and you go to stab him. Stupid.

Then he turns around and gorks you with his saber. You’ll still live for a few minutes. Do you put that time to good use, and stab him to death, so at least you’d have killed him?

No, you get all shocked and surprised and the bastard gets away. Weak!!!
