It’s not a BAD thing, I’ll give you that. But I’m guessing the governor’s IN box was so inundated with hate mail, he had no choice. And he was getting really bad press.

I said on the other thread that I kept having this epiphany that the whole idea of “Confederate History Month” was because people like McDonnell are just pissed off that the Blacks have their own history month. Well hell, I was right.

So Black History Month was in his mind as he was reminded about the civil war. Pray tell, why was that? He wasn’t intending on including the slaves in his proclamation so just what was he thinking about? I have his number.

I’m ok if he was humiliated to change it. Fine, but I’d like to see the people of Virginia yell so loud that they cancel the whole horrible thing.

This is absolutely spot on.

Getting serious, the absolute core of the far right Christofascist has always
been a deep inferiority complex coupled with a whiny sense of entitlement that excludes all others.

If black people have their own history month, and that history shines a light on the very real and grievous sins of the America as a whole and the South in particular, then the weak, and falsely convinced of his own oppression Christofascist, must stike back. For one thing, it destroys his self image of perfect righteousness and of course, rather than working on improving himself like a proper Christian, he will lash out at others.

The most hurtful way to do that is to remind black folks that rednecks like McDonnell once owned them. It is the very viscousness of the attack, the truly childish malice of it, that shows so starkly the weakness that causes it.

You see this inferiority complex also in their response to intellectuals. All of that science and education only shines a light on their own ignorance and inability to for coherent thoughts. They know they have nothing on someone with an actual education in a debate, and they know that they are rightfully mocked for their ignorance. However, rather than taking the time to become educated themselves, they instead choose to lash out.

Any lizard knows that they have won, utterly won any debate with one of these types the second they start whining that you think you are smarter than they are. Of course you really actually are smarter than they are, and they really don’t like that. You are not scared and threatened by new things. They are still figuring out the 19th century.

The world has passed them and they know that sooner or later, they will be left behind (pun intended).

So the response is childish temper tantrums and bold displays of “manliness.” Actual manly men really know that they are and do not feel the need to prove it by whining like sissies all the time or making unneeded threat displays.

Racism itself always has an inferiority complex at its core. If you honestly think you are superior to someone, they are not a threat. There is no need to get cranky. Of course the real driving core of the racist is that he knows he is trailer trash, while a black man is president.
