Heh…..a couple years ago when I was in D.C. I arrived at Union station late at night and the Metro was shut down, so I had to use a taxi. There were three or four black guys by the front door who had been waiting for awhile to catch a cab, but the cabbie would just drive past them.

So we improvised a plan- I’d step out and hail a cab, since we figured they were much more likely to stop for a white guy and then have one of the black guys get in and repeat the process until it was just me.

Oddly enough, it worked. Also worth mentioning that the cabbies who drove past when the black guys were hailing them were black themselves…..
