It’s damn sad. I think its tough for an onlooker to jump in on a gang. 911 would be the thing to do IF your cell is programmed for the local cops, as it is almost certainly not. The sad state of 911 and cells is a contributor to low response times and callers hanging up in frustration. All that high tech and it can’t tell what your police department is! Some software is pretty dumb.

A citizen with a CCW & gun might have a chance, assuming the gang did not escalate this into a gunfight and runs off. Alas urban areas discriminate against us
