A lot of right wingers see serious masturbation material in the riot images coming out of the ME. They seem to be getting hard at the mere prospect that images of violence in the ME will tip the election to the Romney.

Thing is, though, we’ve become pretty desensitized to stories about violent protests in the ME, especially when the majority of casualties aren’t American. Were Obama’s approval numbers really affected during the Arab Spring because foreign Muslims were dying? Have his numbers dipped because Iraqis and Afghanis still don’t like us, or because non-Americans die there every day?

Romney may win the election, but it’s doubtful that the cause will be that the most volatile region on the planet continues to be volatile.
