It’s the old bait-and-switch. They gave themselves hundreds of billions of dollars to “save” the economy and are using all the money for over-priced, impractical or just plain politically useful projects. Wounded soldiers need their food, yes. Does a 350 thousand dollar repair for a dumbwaiter (provided that’s what it’s for) accomplish that and build our economy? At the risk of being overly literal, I would support hiring an out of work Vet to do the job of the dumbwaiter.
