I’m a Henckels man, myself. But you make a point:
NEWBIE COOKS — the most significant and important single item one should have in a good kitchen is at least one superb knife. If you listen to no other advice regarding cooking, listen to this.
Honest — a great knife in the hands of someone who has learned to use it beats any number of electric/mechanical cutting/slicing devices. Plus is works great when the power’s out.
