re: #296 Thanos

Now she’s follow up with an article on sharia taking over cabs … Mohan Singh is complaining about strip club ads. The problem with sharia and Mohan Singh is that both his surname and given name are Sikh names, not Muslim. She is as dim as they come.

Yep, Mohan is a Sikh. Singh is also a Hindu surname; a lot of Rajputs have Singh as a last name…it means Lion, as generally indicative of their martial culture. The 8th (and final) Guru of Sikhism, Gobind Singh—the one who formed the Khalsa and established the fives Ks—dubbed all of the men of the faith as “Singh” as an honorific surname both for the given their bravery in resisting suppression by the Moghuls as well as the inner strength it took to hold faith in the face of overwhelming oppression.

Well, multiculturalism is a failure. And it is a fact that its proponents will try to use this rampage to paint all opposition to it as tainted by this loon. So saying that:

is to me nothing more than a statement of fact.

If it’s a fact “to you” then it’s not a fact. The concept you’re looking for is “wishing really hard.”

As to mutliculturalism…dude, MC doesn’t even have a set definiton beyond “your neighbors might do things different than you, turn not to soil yourself”—the specifics beyond that point get incredibly muddy.

Regarding worldwide immigration and multiculturalism, it’s frankly a joke for European white folks to hum and haw about the “failure” of something they participated in to a minimal degree while thrashing like a recalcitrant mule.

I literally got smacked in the face with the falseness of the assimilation narrative at eight years old. I have a lovely crease in my skull from someone chucking a half brick at my friend Michael…they missed…because somehow he and his divorced mother and his two gorgeous elder sisters were destroying England with their impeccable manners, outstanding achievements in academics, and glowing optimism about living anywhere that wasn’t Kenya under arap Moi.

But it wasn’t just street yobs who taught me that the system was rigged from the get-go: I had front seats for every peer and parent to air their discomfort with the black boy in their public school on scholoarship. The goalpost always moved…so when it wasn’t language and it wasn’t food and it wasn’t interests and it wasn’t clothes it was still something that the white people can’t quite put their finger on. I magically went from irredeemably American—and despised for it—to a proper British boy in two years. My friend Michael, who hadn’t known a home other than Oxford since he was two…somehow was always not quite there. Funny thing, that.

As to this macro-scale shit sandwich in Europe regarding their Muslim citizens…well, if Europeans didn’t like multi-cultural-ness then maybe shoudln’t have devoted two centuries to colonizing other people and forcing them to accept to European norms. Maybe they shouldn’t have imported hordes of said imperial citizens first for the war effort and then for the multi-generational task of rebuilding. Maybe they should have granted those people citizenship rather than sticking them in ghettos that became petri dishes for unrest. Maybe they shouldn’t haved deferred the bureaucratic and economic mechanisms that facilitate assimiliation in favor of keeping a pool of cheap laborers with no bargaining rights. Maybe law enforcement shouldn’t have spent thirty-plus years looking the other way while yobs, Nazis, and hoodlums destroyed businesses, harassed women and children, and occasionally beat people to death.
