I know some guys back in fish country who were able to braze cast iron. Real stout lot, those. They don’t make ‘em like that anymore.

My grandpa, the lumberjack/mechanic, used to make some of his own tools by brazing different metals together. He had hand pump kerosene torches.

I wish I had picked up more of his tools when he died, but I was only 17 so I had no idea how important his stuff would become for me.
