Reading the next few tweets, though, it looks like this is one of their in-jokes at The Intercept.

They’re under a lot of pressure to post more often after lots of criticism over their lazy publishing schedule, probably coming down from the top, and this is how they’re coping - by being assholes in public. Because that’s what they are.

Scahill’s last written word at The Intercept was over a month ago, not sure how much of a joke it really is.
