Well, just to be clear about one thing, I’m not in favor of war crimes prosecutions for former top officials. I think that’s a very dangerous precedent to set, and the case would have to be VERY compelling to get me to support it.

If it were clear they were acting in their own interests and not in the interests of the the US, therefore violating the trust of the office they held … .

That might even be treason.
