Right. Legalization would effectively legalize the cartels. Is there any hope for enforcement from Mexico? Doesn’t seem like it considering the rampant corruption within the Mexican police culture and structure. Short of that doing something about the “open border” policy is the first step we should take.

We have armed incursions of Mexican forces in uniforms carrying military weapons and driving military vehicles. And aren’t doing a damned thing about it.

Anything I would suggest is a pipe dream while shit like that goes down unanswered.
