It was a group excommunication over Vatican II. Benedict XVI wants to get these folks back into line. And they’re not bishops in the Church. They’ve adopted the title for themselves after excommunication.

I thought they were excommunicated over the unauthorized ordinations as bishops by that rogue Cardinal.
